A few years ago, my family moved. It wasn't our first move — but it was the one that finally broke me.

We had dozens of boxes, stacks of lists on yellow notepads, and an elaborate labeling system that made complete sense when I invented it. On moving day, it made no sense at all. Three days in, my wife couldn't find the kids' medication. I couldn't find my laptop charger. We were eating dinner on the floor surrounded by towers of cardboard, and not one of us could remember which box had the coffee maker.

It was not funny. (It's a little funny now.)

I'm a builder. So I built something.

BoxBuddy started as a quiet weekend project — a simple app that lets you photograph what goes inside each box, give it a room, and print a QR label so anyone in the house could scan and see what was there. My kids could scan it. The movers could scan it. My wife could type "coffee maker" and find it in under three seconds.

We used it on our next move. No chaos. No three-day mystery. No "just check every box in the kitchen" conversations at midnight.

I've been building and improving BoxBuddy ever since.
